Sound Ceramics
In 2021, Alli and her partner Reese started Sound Ceramics. Rooted in the Pacific Northwest, they strive to make items that feel connected to the land and sea. Each piece is designed and made by hand meaning there is no one piece is like another.
Sound Ceramic wares are meant to be used and loved every day. Pieces that are delicate yet durable. Pieces that are mindful and feels good in your hand. Pieces that are distinct yet connected to the other items you've collected throughout your life.
Covered in mud
Alli started playing with clay her freshman in high school. She was privileged in that the school had a robust art program, including a ceramics full studio. There, Alli learned the foundational techniques of hand-building and wheel throwing, growing to appreciate and love the marriage of art and science of this medium. After high school, life took Alli in other directions leading to a 9-year hiatus away from pottery. During her time away from the wheel, Alli often missed throwing and found other ways to learn and participate in the community.
In 2018, Alli rented space from another local potter and quickly gained interest. Due to studio capacity, and then COVID, Alli wasn't able to take on orders or keep up with demand. In January 2021, she and her partner Reese decided to take the leap and build out a home studio.
